I actually like them and think they pack a lot of expression, but maybe I should go back and play vanilla again to see which I feel is better. That said, it certainly overlevels you in the main game, which is a fault. WOG was very fun to traverse for me, each sphere is planned out well and each has its own theme. Of course, you can just skip Alex and the Womb of Grief, though she’ll always be introduced in Bootes which is a bit irksome if you don’t want to recognize she exists. That being said, I did get used it, it wasn’t a deal-breaker for me. I don’t think the UI is as good they tried to make it look and sound clean and stylized, where the original was basic and simple and had better sound effects.
